Escape the Clutches of a Legendary Monster
In Nancy Drew: The Captive Curse, the 24th game in Her Interactive's wildly popular Nancy Drew video game series, Nancy's off to Germany to investigate mysterious sightings of a creature that's been terrorizing the community of a remote Bavarian castle. Local legend tells of a creature that marauded the area centuries ago, wreaking havoc and ultimately causing the death of a young woman before disappearing without a trace. Now everyone is frightened by the sights and sounds of something large stumbling through the darkness and the possibility that the terrifying cycle is about to start all over again. Can you, as Nancy Drew, unmask the creature before it strikes again?
Gameplay
Like all games in the Nancy Drew series, Nancy Drew: The Captive Curse is a single player mystery adventure game with additional puzzle-solving elements and the ability to read case files, save clues and items found, etc. Assuming the roll of teenage sleuth Nancy Drew, players utilize the familiar point-and-click game mechanic to explore Castle Finster and the surrounding areas as well as interact with non-player characters. It is through this interrogation of non-layer characters, the collection of clues and solving of puzzles that the mystery is solved. Along the way you will uncover hidden rooms and secret passages, play a German folktale game and delve into German culture. The game features cat-and-mouse encounters with a legendary beast, the ability to restart the game without penalty in the event of a fatal mistake and two difficulty settings (Jr. or Sr. Detective). The game also contains an economy in which Nancy earns euros which can be spent in-game on digital trinkets and souvenirs at the castle store. All digital download purchases are available immediately.
