This game will consume your soul... November 18, 2008 Harrison Brock Schaerr (riverton utah) 18 out of 23 found this review helpful
for a fraction of the price that alcohol, cocaine, or acid will... And therefore, represents a quality value to all those in the market for addictive substances.
Dont be scammed by these guys!! September 19, 2008 J. Bishop (Orange County) 13 out of 29 found this review helpful
You can still order the CE for the "normal" price from many shops. Dont even think of paying this much for it.
Nice Addons, but Not Worth the Resellers' Price November 18, 2008 Aaron A. (Darkest Alaska) 8 out of 12 found this review helpful
The extra doodads that come with the Collector's Edition are nice, but a month from now, will you really still want that Frostwyrm in-game pet, or that mousepad? Will you actually read the strategy guide after day one? I flipped through the original and TBC guides that came with the World of Warcraft Battlechest, and they helped me learn the basics of the game, but there's nothing in there that benefits my everyday gameplay; the Internet offers more comprehensive information, more quickly, than the books. If you want a few new toys and a stylish box, buy the Collector's Edition. If you just want to play the game, buy the regular edition. If you're new to World of Warcraft, don't bother with Wrath of the Lich King just yet. Get the Battlechest (includes the original game, The Burning Crusade expansion pack, and a month of game time, for a very reasonable price); before level 55, you won't see any benefit from this second expansion. Also, if you do go for the Collector's Edition, don't buy from the resellers; you'll save a lot of money if you look around and find a retailer who still has one.
This price is highway robbery November 13, 2008 L. Fields 3 out of 14 found this review helpful
I just ordered mine from a popular stores website and with overnight shipping it was less than 1/3 of this price. Anyone who would pay this must be crazy!
Woo, release date shipping! Woo, WotLK! November 14, 2008 Noah Ahned 2 out of 5 found this review helpful
First off, my hat is off to Amazon for not only giving release date shipping, but doing it for free. Secondly, the new expansion is pretty frickin' awesome so far. Granted, I've only played through the DK starting area and the first few quests of the Northrend starting zone. My interest in WoW was dwindling quickly up until the expansion, and I only pre-ordered the CE for WotLK because I have the other two CEs and still love the story behind the game. The DK starting area, at least, took the lore are slapped you around with it until you liked it (or just gave you plenty of time to bask in it, if you liked it already). The starting area in Northrend is pretty much the same old same old, but at least for now the new scenery is refreshing enough to distract me. The actual installation process was long, and there are already two patches out for it that you have to sit through, although the Blizzard downloader had already seemed to have finished downloading them. There are a few bugs in some of the quests and such, but nothing major. I hardly even had to wait through a queue, even though I play on a high population server, and lag was practically non-existant as far as I could tell, so my hat is off again to Blizzard for a pretty darn smooth expansion launch. Overall, it's still WoW, but I'd say it's a fairly compelling expansion so far and would recommend it even to the WoW-weary as being worth a shot.
