show is awesome. game is terrible! April 7, 2009 MattM (Sacramento, ca United States) 3 out of 3 found this review helpful
This game has nothing to do with cooking. It's a basic point and click, time management click-fest. yeah and theres even more clicking too. the gist of the game is very simplistic and you're gonna get bored with it within a half hour tops. bascially you are running a resuturaunt and need to seat and feed customers. all of the activities only require a left mouse click. Cook a steak? left mouse click. seat some guests? left mouse click. etc. etc. download the demo, then cry. Don't waste time with this crappy game that could have been done via java on a webpage.
Go through Hell's Kitchen in the safety of your own home... March 7, 2009 Shana (NY- the Empire State) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I also love all of Gordon Ramsay's shows (especially Hell's Kitchen) and I really enjoy this game. In this game you'll get a chance to make through Hell's Kitchen, while in the safety of your own home.
The game plays in two modes, Career & Arcade Mode. Career is the most fun. The better you are at your time management skills while cooking during the restaurant service the more you'll stay on Chef Ramsay's good side. If you are bad at your management skills you'll get kicked out of Hell's Kitchen!
You have to make it through 5 weeks in Career mode, you earn a star by completing each day of the week. Each day in the week as you pass Ramsay's test you unlock a new Ramsay recipe as well as a new customer. In the career mode you have to wait tables, greet customers, take orders, deliver the meal and also clear the tables, as well as cooking the food.
In the arcade mode you cook against the clock and Chef Ramsay's quick temper.
Lots of fun, but after you beat the game, you might get bored with this quickly as the customers and meals never change.
Good Time coordination game March 27, 2009 SAM FRIEDMAN (Flushing, NY United States) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
While not a bad game this is mostly a time coordination game just clicking on 2 different bowls to mix them, put them on stove and then take them off when timer runs out. you also must not keep customers waiting, so you must get food out and take new orders constantly.
I think the game should have been that you could have stuck to the kitchen and given you hundreds of items from a list and when an order comes up such as onion soup, you need to choose onion, wine, water etc.. and put those in the pot. wrong ingredients would make you fail.
but considering its not a AAA Title...its okay
Hell's Kitchen is Spot On February 16, 2009 K. R. Williams 2 out of 3 found this review helpful
I LOVE Ramsey's TV shows and I LOVE this game. This game is fun for everyone. But if you are looking for a game that delves into the culinary arts, then perhaps you should look elsewhere. This is more for gamers who have good hand/eye coordination and time management skills. The Arcade section provides hours of fun. An added bonus is a list of fine dining recipes for those of you willing to take on that task.
Rough sledding April 18, 2010 Beantown Jim (Florida) As a Gordon Ramsay fan who follows him on US tv as well as on his many shows on BBC America, I can say without restraint I like about everything he does. This game obviously is not programmed by him. Capturing the angst, the pressure, the overall mood of his presence is impossible to digitize, so it is no surprise that the game fizzles. I know that I would not fare well if forced to perform in the kitchen for the master chef, and this game humbles you too...but it lacks that sense of reality that is what we are seeking.
