I love it November 4, 2009 K. Crehan (Las Vegas, NV) 4 out of 4 found this review helpful
After fishdom - still playing - the cradle of Rome - still playing - I just bought it and I love it. It is challenging, fun and you just don't want to stop. The good thing is, you can try it first for 30 min. and if you like it, you buy it. So, try it, you can't loose, and if you like 3 match games, you will love this one and will try out all the other too.
Cradle of Persia ... lots of fun! Amazon Games & Software Downloader a Real Problem! January 28, 2010 GTn Cats (G'town, TN USA) 2 out of 2 found this review helpful
I am a "Cradle of Rome" fan. So when I came across "Cradle of Persia" I was eager to give it a try. It is a lot of fun; it is similar to Cradle of Rome, yet, different. How one makes chains in "Cradle of Persia" is quite different. It has the bonus tools/items across the bottom and has many levels, like "Cradle of Rome". The two games are different enough such that if you purchase both you won't feel like you've bought two cloned games. A small video clip of the game in action exists on the Amazon video game "Cradle of Persia" product page.
I downloaded Cradle of Persia via the Amazon "Games & Software" downloader; this is my very first direct-install via Amazon's downloader. The Downloader is one big reason why I wanted to write this review. I had major problems with the downloader; for days I couldn't get it to install. It locked up my computer completely at the verification step. I've given a more lengthy discussion of what troubleshooting I did to find the resolve in the discussion forum, "Game Download: Does the software work for anyone?".
The short story is that I had to uninstall Webroot (Spyware). Shutting it down was not sufficient, I had to do a complete uninstall. My experience is the same as another Amazon customer who used the downloader to purchase TurboTax. I came across his review where he said Webroot had to be completely uninstalled, not just shut down. This worked for me, as well. I successfully installed the downloader in about 1-2 minutes. Played the trial version of "Cradle of Persia", then purchased the full-version. The trial version gives you 30 minutes of play. The full download and purchase process worked smoothly, and I was playing it in no time. I received a confirmation of the direct purchase in email, as well.
I might contact Webroot and find out if they have a resolve, my subscription runs for another 6 months with them. It has been beneficial to have their product on my computer. Otherwise, I will look for an alternate anti-spyware. Note: My anti-virus is McAfee, my firewall is Symantec. These don't appear to factor into my install problem; as I have these products (same versions) on another computer; and the downloader installed in seconds on that computer. The only difference between the two computers is one had Webroot and one didn't. Furthermore, when I did the uninstall, everything started installing correctly and smoothly.

I love this game because you connect adjacent games pieces instead of matching up 3 like in Cradle of Rome or Bejeweled or JewelQuest. You earn points for Gold, Supplies and Food allowing you to work through 5 epochs of Persian Empire building.
Hours and hours of fun.

I have enjoyed the game, but every time I finish the "Mogul Rule" and go to the last levels..Aladdin, and have to stop, it will not save my game and makes me go back to "Mogul Rule". I don't like this and the fact that there is no information about it in the menu. Therefore, I cannot give it more than 3 stars.
Hard to imagine tiring of this game! December 21, 2009 DF (Tucson) 1 out of 1 found this review helpful
This is one of the most challenging games I've ever played. It has lots and lots of variety. I've had Cradle of Persia for about 3 months and play it every day. It's not unlike those "match 3+" games -- it's much better. Would love to know if anyone has actually been able to complete the final segment.
